A Take on Courage, Calm and Comfort

Happy Big 3 Day!

We are almost there. One last week, for most of us who will be closing the year. And my hats off to those who will double down during the festive season.

Before we dive in, I have a quick favor to ask! If you’re enjoying The Big 3, please share it with three friends who would love it just as much! Thank you. :)

Now let's get to today's three words:

- Courage
- Calm
- Comfort

Read on.

Courage.

My word for 2025. What will be yours?

Every year, I choose a word that sets the tone for my goals and priorities. It helps me stay focused.

Recently, I've had Resolve, Systems, and Congruence. Do you choose a word for each year as well? If not, I encourage you to try.

Starting now and going into 2025, my word is Courage

I looked up its definition and found a couple of powerful synonyms that resonated with me. Here are three of them:

  • Undaunted

  • Unflinching

  • Unshrinking

Question: Which areas of your life would greatly improve if you were more courageous, undaunted, and venturesome?

Whatever your definition of courage is, and wherever you need it, my wish is for you to activate it.

Here's to versions of ourselves that are more undaunted, unflinching and unshrinking.

Calm.

Prioritizing pockets of stillness.

"In the center of the storm, calm prevailed."

This sentence is one of many found under the definition of calm.

Just reading it gave me a sense of serenity and silence, ahead of the festive holidays.

As we close the year, busy celebrating with loved ones, I am planning more stillness, gentleness and peace for when we get back into the hustle and bustle. Starting with blocking off quarterly ME days on the calendar (if it's not booked it won't happen).

A solo trip, a daily walk, a moment to journal, or even a cup of warmth while members of your household are still asleep.

Whatever you choose, I hope it will happen and be rejuvenating.

Be still and prioritize calm

Comfort.

Choosing new ways of comfort.

We hear a lot about the comfort zone that hinders productivity and greatness, however, today, I am focusing on the comfort we seek when facing life-changing moments and decisions.

A complicated career change, a bold move to a new area, closing a business or letting go of a dream that no longer serves you, or even saying no to an opportunity you've been waiting for.

To live fully, and become better versions of ourselves often requires taking uncomfortable steps. And that's when we need more reassurance and comfort.

I invite you to contemplate new and healthier comforting ways to manage these moments, besides the usual suspects - shopping, eating, and sometimes even avoiding it altogether. PS: suggestions welcome.

That's all for now. Once again, thank you for reading.

Until next week,
Happy Holidays.
