Design Your Environment for Success
Hi Friends!
Welcome to this week's edition of The Corageus. As news cycles continue to bring challenges every day, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed, uncertain, or even powerless. But even amid all this turbulence, we still have the power to create the environment that allows us to thrive.
Today, I want to share an important insight I had during a morning reflection on how Structure, Support, and Significance (the 3 S’s) are foundational to success. Even when things feel out of control, taking small, intentional steps toward building a supportive environment can make all the difference.
Let’s dive in.
The Lesson: Design Your Environment for Success with 3 Powerful S's
During a recent morning meditation, I had an epiphany: my successes to date are not just the result of talent and effort. They are the product of a clear framework—Structure + Support + Significance (the 3 S’s)—which made success inevitable.
Looking back, I realize that success in my journey as a sales coach and agency owner wasn’t just about skills or ambition—it was about the 3 S’s, which were present in both seasons of my life.
Structure can mean a peaceful home, a permanent job, or stable finances—creating a foundation that allows you to thrive without constant worry.
Support can take the shape of a fulfilling relationship, a loved one or a mentor who provides guidance and encouragement, especially during challenging times.
Significance is knowing your contributions make a meaningful impact. Being reminded by others that my work mattered validated my efforts and opened new doors.
When these three elements were in place, success followed naturally. If you observe the people around you who are thriving, chances are they, too, have these three pillars supporting them. And if you reflect on your own life, I bet you’ll see the same pattern.
This realization reminded me why toddlers, for example, thrive under routines and structure—because feeling safe allows them to regulate their emotions, which in turn fosters better growth. The opposite is also true: chaos breeds unpredictability—not to be confused with uncertainty—leading to stress, survival mode, and often self-sabotage—the other 3 S’s we want to stay away from.
So here is my lesson: be mindful of the environment you create for yourself. Whether in your home, your work, or your business, your success is deeply influenced by it.
Success isn’t just about what you do—it’s about the environment you cultivate or tolerate. (Re)Design yours intentionally and remember the 3 S’s: Structure + Support + Significance.
The Book: The Artist's Way by Julia Cameron
If you’re looking for more guidance on how to build a supportive environment for your creativity and success, I highly recommend The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron.
This book is a transformative guide that focuses on unlocking your creative potential through exercises that nurture your inner artist, your creative self. It’s about overcoming the blocks that hold us back and creating the conditions for our best work to flourish.
The Clarity Reset Challenge
This week’s challenge is simple but powerful. Spend 15 minutes every day for the next three days in a distraction-free environment—this will be easier if you did last week's challenge—just you and your thoughts.
Use this time to reflect on the 3 S’s in your life—how can you build more of them into your environment? Where might you be tolerating chaos or a lack of support? Clarity begins when we intentionally carve out time for reflection.
Thank you for being here. I am rooting for you.
