Do Less, Get More

Welcome to another Big 3!

Today's edition is a simple reminder to find joy in doing less. Instead of adding more goals, take a different approach and eliminate some. I have found immense peace lately, in doing less. I hope this will resonate with you.

The Lesson 💡

Doing Less Things Adds Meaning to What Remains

I once glorified Hustle Culture. I wanted to do it and have it all, fast. Honestly, I still occasionally do.

But then, life got busier, faster than I could catch my breath. Client requests, contract demands, kids drop-offs and pick-ups, working out, tracking calories, drinking enough water, scheduling catch-ups with friends, you name it.

Squeezing everything vying for my attention in my schedule became a herculean task until I realized I had the power to choose. And so I did. I opted for a more serene and meaningful life over a hectic pace.

In practice, it means saying No first, to whatever comes my way, and reevaluating my choice afterwards if needed.

As a result, I do fewer things with more intensity and focus. It's a challenge for the overachiever in me, but it works, at least for now.

If you feel as if life is racing, and you can barely catch your breath, hello, "How did September get here already?", doing less may be the answer you need.

The Book 📕

The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz

This book is a practical guide to Personal Freedom. It helped me simplify thoughts and ways of being that once complicated my life, unnecessarily.

“This book by Don Miguel Ruiz, simple yet so powerful, has made a tremendous difference in how I think and act in every encounter.” — Oprah Winfrey

Here are the four agreements:

  1. Be impeccable with your word

  2. Don't take anything personally

  3. Don't make assumptions

  4. Always do your best

A quick and powerful read I highly recommend.

The Strategy  🎯

Eliminate a Task from Your To-Do List

If you read this newsletter, you probably are a member of the high-achievers club who takes pride in doing it all. Or maybe it's just me. But what if you didn't have to?

You know that satisfying feeling you experience when a meeting gets cancelled, and you suddenly gain an extra hour to focus on one task, or perhaps take a breather?

Audit your to-do list for the rest of the week.

Pick a task you could delegate or delete, and remove it from your calendar - never to be added again. Bonus points if you delete more than one.

Do less, Get more. You got this.

Thank you for reading.

Until next week,
Stay Consistent.
