Silence The Noise, Hear Better

Happy December!

Welcome to the first Big 3 of my Birthday month.

Growth loves change and so for the four editions of December, things will look and feel different.

I will continue to share three things, however, they won’t be the usual lesson, book and strategy trio.

Today, let’s dive into 3 words:
- Noise
- No
- Next

Read on.

NOISE.

The world has gotten so loud. We barely hear ourselves think.

Think about everything vying for our attention, from the podcasts we listen to, the books we start, the Netflix series we binge-watch, the to-do lists we make, the meetings we plan, the news we consume, and the reels we share… It’s all too much, isn’t it?

I know it is for me. So lately, I have been seeking quiet. Not that any of these are inherently bad, it’s just time to turn down the volume.

The noise will still be there when I “return”. So why not take a breather? Our greatest breakthroughs and epiphanies rarely occur in noise and chaos anyway.

Here are three small actions you can take to help you quiet things down:

1 - Identify the loudest source of noise in your life.
2 - Determine how long you will tune it out.
3 - Gently pull the plug.🔌

You deserve some quiet time, especially after the year we’ve had. You don’t need to fill this void, instead, feel it.

Quiet the noise. Hear your voice. Have peace. The answers you’ve been seeking may come to you in a whisper.

NO.

‘This the season to be jolly’ fa la la la la la not so fast 🎶

All the gift-shopping, party-prepping, baking-planning, market-hunting, and all the other things we sign up for in the name of happy holidays, can leave us feeling dizzy and out of control.

Think about the engagements you committed to for a moment, are you excited about them or is it a habit, or tradition you’re keeping up with? Is it all necessary? Do you care that much? If so, kudos to you.

This holiday season, if it’s not an OMG yes, it will be a NO for me. I’ve been doing the most this year, and I mean, THE most.

This was my first year as a school Mom. 6yo in Grade 1, 3yo in daycare. So we're baking muffins & cookies, packing lunches every morning, doing drop-offs/pickups etc...

I also coached clients, kept a 30h+/week corporate communications contract at a Global Company, launched this weekly newsletter, braided my hair, and most recently, took on managing creators, to help them land better deals. I am done for! 😅

If like me, you need to join the NO club, go ahead. Less partying, more part-ing. You deserve rest. ✌🏾

NEXT.

What's Your Next Move?

After we quiet the noise and carve personal downtime, we have room to contemplate what matters to us in the next moment, or chapter of our life.

A new role? A career change? Ending or starting a relationship? Going for a medical review? Launching that business? Writing the book? Taking a sabbatical? Who knows.

You created a space to just be, so you can see, feel and hear what’s next for you. Bask in it. Again, don't fill it. Feel it instead.

It is no coincidence that you’re experiencing a very different Big 3, and I’m curious to unfold what’s going to come next.

For now, I thank you for sticking around.

Until next week,
Stay Consistent.
