Your Soft Era Is Calling

Happy Big 3 Wednesday!

I am glad to have you here and will make it worthwhile. If not already, subscribe here.

Reading this after 8 PM (Ayeee)? I triple-appreciate you.

Here are 1 lesson, 1 book and 1 strategy to consider this week.

Enjoy!

1 Lesson 💡

Vulnerability is a Superpower

Ever been in a place where you’re hiding your true feelings (behind a smile), at work or with family and friends, building walls to protect yourself, only to end up feeling isolated? Been there.

For a long time, perfection was my middle name. Mistakes were the enemy, and asking for help? Don’t even think about it. Guess what? This attitude costs me a lot: relationships, career advancement, opportunities, and most importantly, peace.

Here's what I'm learning: vulnerability isn't a weakness, it's actually powerful. Opening up in safe spaces helps us heal, connect with others, and truly thrive. That's why I am leaning in my vulnerable side a lot more lately, and as scary as it is (hello, writing this was uncomfortable), I always feel better afterwards.

I know it can be difficult, but if you need a change try it. Embrace your soft era, and be vulnerable, one (shaky) brave step at a time.

1 Book 📕

Atlas of the Heart, by Brené Brown

Something a little different this week. We will return to growth and money mastery titles, but for now, here is "Atlas of the Heart," a book that maps necessary skills and actionable frameworks for meaningful connections with ourselves and others. Everything is interconnected, after all.

Here are two (of the many) passages that resonate with me:

  • “When someone shares their hopes and dreams with us, we are witnessing deep courage and vulnerability. Celebrating their successes is easy, but when disappointment happens, it's an incredible opportunity for meaningful connection.”

  • “It may seem counterintuitive, but one of the biggest barriers to working toward mastery is perfectionism. Achieving mastery requires curiosity and viewing mistakes and failures as opportunities for learning.”

1 Strategy 🎯

A Self-Compassion Exercise

Have you heard of the term self-compassion?

I recently stumbled upon the work of Dr. Kristin Neff, and in her words, “Self-compassion is when you are kind and understanding when confronted with your failings – after all, who ever said you were supposed to be perfect?”

As we continue on our soft Big 3 edition, I invite you to reflect on your self-compassion.

Don't know where to start? Choose one of Dr. Neff's exercises. My favourite is exploring self-compassion through writing, naturally. I hope this was helpful.

Thank you for reading.

Until next week,

Be Consistent.
